On a recent Sunday night, I had the opportunity to visit Ai Fiori. Over the next six months or so, I am trying to only visit Michelin starred restaurants if I go out to eat. Ai Fiori is a one-starred restaurant, and in short, it was excellent. Easily one of the better one-star restaurants in NYC. My meal was as follows:
Animelle – crispy sweetbreads, pomme purée, truffle vinaigrette, pancetta
Trofie Nero – ligurian crustacean ragu, seppia, scallops, spiced mollica
Vitello – amish veal chop “au four,” saltimbocca, new potatoes
Panna Cotta – balsamic crema, blood orange, marcona almond, lemon sorbetto
