I hate dive bars. Most are disgusting places only good for cheap drinks. The cheap drinks part is fine, the griminess is not. Jimmy’s Corner is perhaps the only dive bar I will happily visit anytime. Place is cool – boxing photos on the wall and seasoned no-BS bartenders. The beers are cheap – only $3-4 bucks. And Jimmy is the man. I don’t know his story, but he is one of those older black men who “has seen some things.” One cool cat. If you ever find yourself in Times Square with some time to kill, visit Jimmy’s Corner.
